Bridleway Cottages at Golland Farm

A holiday is about getting away from it all which is why we are dedicated to not increasing our prices this year, in many cases we have done everything possible to reduce them so everyone can enjoy a little bit of the beautifully relaxing North Devon countryside this 2010!

At Golland Farm we cater for all tastes where you can do as much or as little as you wish. With simply stunning views from all our farm cottages you can relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Devonshire countryside. There's a fun packed grassy childrens play area perfect for fun & games. A woodland walk that take's you across acres of stunning farmland including water meadows filled with glorious wild flowers and fantastic wildlife (the land is a sanctuary for otters, deer, foxes, badgers, owls and buzzards) and for the more energetic, bridlepaths that will take you into the farms closest village's of Burrington and Chulmeleigh where you can sample the local Award Winning Devon Ale. For those who like to fish there are two half acre lakes well stocked with Carp and other species of course fish. There is no closed season and fishing is free for our holiday makers. Finally for our 4 legged doggy friends there are plenty of muddy walks around the farm where they can run free and jump into the odd muddy puddle or lake!

Nearby attractions include, Eggesford Country Centre, with walking and cycling trails, RHS Garden Rosemoor, Arlington Court, Castle Drogo, The Big Sheep - a fun day out for the whole family, Knightshayes, market towns of South Molton and Barnstaple and The Eden Project is only an hour or so by car. We are also not too far from the world famous sandy surfing beaches of Croyde and Woolacombe.

The Cottages

The farm has three holiday cottages all of which allow dogs that have been converted from traditional devon farm buildings. The barns were initially built by the Babbage family who owned a lot of property in this area. The farm was once part of the Earl of Portsmouth’s estate and was traditionally farmed up until 1992, when one of the farms past owners retired. The Taw Valley area in which we are situated is still mainly made up of small farms rearing beef, lamb and some dairy produce. Golland farmhouse is a traditional cob and thatch Devon long house and dates back to the mid 14th Century.
