Bridleway Cottages at Golland Farm
A holiday is about getting away from it all. At Bridleway Cottages, you can do as little or as much as you like.
Golland is a small mixed organic farm set in the rolling hills of the Taw Valley, ideally situated between Dartmoor and Exmoor. On our land we have two half acre lakes well stocked with Carp and other species of course fish. There is no closed season and fishing is free for our holiday makers. The Mully Brook, a tributary of the River Taw runs through the farm and contains small brown trout, walkers can enjoy acres of stunning farmland including water meadows filled with glorious wild flowers and fantastic wildlife.
It’s the perfect place to enjoy a walk and take in the wonderful views, to relax in the peace and tranquillity of the unspoilt natural surroundings and really get away from the hustle and bustle.
The land is a sanctuary for wildlife, otters, deer, foxes, badgers, owls and buzzards are just a few of our regular visitors.
Nearby attractions include, Eggesford Country Centre, with walking and cycling trails, RHS Garden Rosemoor, Arlington Court, Castle Drogo, Knightshayes, market towns of South Molton and Barnstaple and The Eden Project is only an hour or so by car. We are not too far from the world famous sandy surfing beaches of Croyde and Woolacombe.

The Cottages
The farm has three holiday cottages that have been converted from traditional farm buildings. The barns were initially built by the Babbage family who owned a lot of property in this area. The farm was once part of the Earl of Portsmouth’s estate and was traditionally farmed up until 1992, when one of the farms past owners retired. The Taw Valley area in which we are situated is still mainly made up of small farms rearing beef, lamb and some dairy produce. Golland farmhouse is a traditional cob and thatch Devon long house and dates back to the mid 14th Century.
